I'm using the Pagico v5. The linking to dropped file doesn't seem to be working. I'm holding ctrl while dragging and dropping the file and it's always copied to the database. I'm running Windows 7 32bit.

Also agree with Rick's comments.

Best,

Thanks, Ryo. For number 2, the "zero option" if you want to avoid clutter in the Pagico window might be a menu command (perhaps in File-New), which would allow people to use a keyboard shortcut. But perhaps the most obvious is to use the Add menu: Text Paragraph, List, Choose File.

Hi Rick,
@1: That makes sense. I'll see what we can do in the near future.
@2: It's actually very easy to implement on a programming standpoint. And probably you didn't know that we actually removed this feature to reduce interface clutters. But again, it is definitely more convenient in some occasions. And I'll see if we can find a perfect way to add this feature without making the UI too heavy or less efficient.

Thanks again for your ideas!! :)

Two requests on getting files into Pagico:
1) I'd like an option in the Preferences to reverse the Drag and Option-Drag meanings. Keep the default as it is, but make it easier for people like me who want nearly always to link files rather than copy them.
2) Offer a file navigation dialogue as an alternative to drag and drop. I know that drag and drop is supposed to be the archetypal example of how easy the Mac GUI is, but I find it really tiresome to have to switch to the Finder and prepare a suitable window in a suitable place where Pagico won't obscure it, and then switch back to Pagico and then drag and drop. I know Expose is supposed to make that easier, but it's still a fiddly operation. A file dialogue doesn't require any dexterity with the mouse and for me is much more straightforward.

I've only just purchased, by the way, but from what I've seen so far this is mighty impressive software.
