Import contacts from Address Book

Pagico accepts vCard files, which is an industry standard file format for contact information. For mac users, you can get vCard files for certain contacts by dragging them from your Address Book to your desktop.

To import vCard files as contacts, simply navigate to the “People” section by clicking it in the sidebar, then drag and drop the vCard files into the Pagico window.

Once imported, you’ll be able to see those contacts in the contacts list.

Tips & Hints

Make sure you’re in the contact list before dragging in the vCard files. If you’re in a topic, then the vCard file will be added as a file attachment.

If you’re in a contact profile, Pagico will replace the contact information in the current profile with the vCard file you just dragged in.

A vCard file can contain multiple person’s contact information. So when you’re dragging out a group of people from the Address Book, you may only see one vCard file generated on your desktop.

The Vcard import works as stated with the exception that, at least in my case, the contact information was not saved until I selected the ‘Archive’ button on the Pagico contact page. Then all was well.

You don’t have to “archive” it to display the info. Actually, the contact info was supposed to show up automatically. But it didn’t, due to a bug.

We’re able to reproduce this issue, and it should be a fairly quick fix.

I am having the same problem as Jonathan on my mac. I have tried dragging the contact info from address book, but it won’t register until i move one to the desktop.

    Hi Andreas,
Yes, this is a confirmed bug, as for some reason Address Book does not consider Pagico as a valid “Drop to” target. So for now you’ll have to drop that onto your desktop, and then drag those vCard files back into Pagico.

    We’re working on fixing it.

    Thanks!

How do you delete a contact from pagico? – for instance I have a duplicate contact that I want to remove, but I can’t seem to get rid of it – any thoughts?

    Hi Andreas,
Simply go into a contact profile, then click the “Trash” icon located on the upper right corner of the profile.

Is there anyway to import multiple contacts ? I have a load in an old contact system – I can export those to csv or several other formats (not vcard :( )…..

    Cheers

    Hi Patrick,
I’m sorry but we don’t plan to import CSV data, at least not in the near future.

You have a message that shows up in the contact when it is an empty profile and it has a grammatical error. You have: You can store information (notes, tasks, files) regarding to this person or organization.

It could be worded better, perhaps as “in regard” to this person… etc.

There are typos in other places and as I am just now trying it out, I’m fearful typos on the surface might indicate other more structurally important lapses.

Just trying to work out why you don’t just use address book contacts instead of having to import them.
As soon as I import, I end up with duplicate data (massive no, no) and I have lost all of the functionality of syncing my contact data between devices.

My contacts are one area that I currently manage to keep in good order, but I am looking for a way to add more value to the information (metadata, link to projects, status, etc) Pagico would be a great way to do that, except that it doesn’t talk to my current list of contacts.

    Maybe I’m missing something….
    Any thoughts?

    @ozpritcha,

Synchronization with the Address Book is on our list, and we’ll get it done in the near future.

    Thanks,
    Ryo
