To answer your question directly: having smaller and more focuses databases might increase database portability (easy to move around) and program performance (it runs faster), but you might suffer from having to switch database frequently. So it&#039;s really a matter of balance as they all have benefits and drawbacks. So you should really be the judge on this matter.
