Sharing Information

Exporting projects and contact profiles

If you need to share your projects or contact profiles with someone else, just export it, and send it via email. The exported package is a compressed folder (.zip file), containing a web-friendly format of your project or profile, as well as all its file attachments.

How-To

To export, simply open up that project (or profile), scroll to the bottom until you see the link “Export”. Click on that link, you’ll see a number of different styles for you to choose.

After choosing a style, in a few seconds (or minutes, depending on the size of your selected container) you’ll be prompted to choose a place to save the exported package.

Compatibility

Any modern computer will be able to open that package without installing any extra software.

Upload as a web page

In addition to send the package via email, you can also uncompress the zipped file, and upload the folder onto a web server. Your exported data can instantly become a well-designed web page.

Export / Print a contact profile as PDF files

Pagico allows you to export contact profiles as PDF files. In order to do so, just open up the contact profile you’d like to export, click on the “Print” link in the upper right corner of the profile.

Once you’ve done so, a printer-friendly version of the current contact profile will be created and displayed in a separate window.

Use the menu command “Edit -> Print as PDF” to save the printer-friendly version to your computer.

Export Schedule Information to iCal (or any compatible application)

Pagico was not designed to replace your calendar applications in any way. Instead, it works with them. You can link Pagico with your calendar application (such as iCal), so you can see schedule information stored in Pagico  right in your favorite calendar application.

To do so, simply navigate to “Preferences” by clicking the button in the toolbar.

Scroll to the bottom until you see the link “Your schedule in iCal format”. Click on that, your system default calendar application will popup (if not, that probably means that you don’t have an iCal-compatible calendar app installed on your computer).

In the calendar application (in this example, iCal), you’ll be asked whether or not to subscribe to the calendar, and whether or not “remove any ToDo information from the calendar”. Choose to keep all the todo information, and set up an automatic update of every 15 minutes (or whatever you like).

Woohoo! Now you can see your schedule stored in Pagico in your favorite calendar application! Don’t forget you can also sync your calendar with your iPhone (or similar smartphone), too!

Importing exported topic packages

Exported topic packages can be imported back to Pagico. So when your friends sent you some exported topics, you can not only open them in the standard way, but also import the topic into your Pagico, and do some edit if you want.

To do so, first of all navigate to the topic list view (the “data” section, where you can see the tag browser as well as the topics), and drag & drop the “.zip” file (don’t uncompress it) into the topic list.

The package will be uncompressed, examined, and inserted to your database.

Tips & Hints

If you drag & drop the exported package into a topic (or a contact profile), then it will be inserted as a file attachment to the topic (or the contact profile).

Channels

If you’re using Pagico v4.2, you should be able to see a new module showing up in the left column, it’s called “Channels”.

Channels is designed to provide you an extremely flexible and powerful way to share and synchronize data among your team.

Currently this feature is being heavily tested and you can not use it yet (the Create new channel button will be grayed out). But don’t worry, we’re planning to launch a free beta period as soon as it’s reliable enough, so you and your team can try it out and see how it fits!

The Channels beta program has already started, and you can sign up for free! A huge amount of information regarding to Channels is still being prepared.
